The Second Food Safety Rapid Testing Competition of the 2025 BRICS Competition has concluded at Guangdong Vocational College of Science and Trade

On November 24, 2025, the second national finals of the 2025 "the Belt and Road" and BRICS Skills Development and Technological Innovation Competition for Rapid Food Safety Test was successfully concluded in Qingyuan Campus of Guangdong Vocational College of Science and Trade. The competition was hosted by the Chinese Council of the BRICS Business Council, the the Belt and Road and BRICS Skills Development International Alliance, the "the Belt and Road" and the BRICS Skills Development and Technological Innovation Training Center, co sponsored by the Chinese Invention Association and the Chinese Foreign People to People Exchange Center, undertaken by the Chinese Working Group on Skills Development, Applied Technology and Innovation of the BRICS Business Council, and co organized by Guangdong Vocational College of Science and Trade, Guangdong Dayuan Oasis Food Safety Technology Co., Ltd., Beijing Jiake New Technology Co., Ltd., and Xiamen BRICS Future Skills Development and Technological Innovation Institute.
The competition lasted for four days, with two groups of students and teachers, attracting 75 universities and more than 500 teachers and students from 23 provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities directly under the central government across the country to actively participate. The event aims to promote the technical exchange and talent training in the field of food safety between the "the Belt and Road" and BRICS countries, and focuses on improving the professional practice ability and standard operation awareness of teachers and students in vocational colleges. After intense competition, the student group produced a total of 11 gold awards, 21 silver awards, and 32 bronze awards; The teacher group has won 6 gold awards, 12 silver awards, and 18 bronze awards.

To ensure the high-quality hosting of the event, the Party Committee of Guangdong Vocational College of Science and Trade attaches great importance to it and has established a special working group to coordinate and promote the preparation and operation of the event. Before the competition, Wang Hailin, Deputy Secretary of the School Party Committee and President, led a team to conduct on-site inspections of the venue layout, equipment, and logistical support to ensure that all conditions met the competition standards. During the competition, the working group provided thoughtful and meticulous services to each participating team, creating a professional, fair, and warm atmosphere for the competition.

The competition focuses on the core technology of rapid detection of food safety, and includes key practical projects such as organic phosphorus pesticide residues, lead and cadmium detection in grains, and rapid detection of metronidazole. The emphasis is on testing the contestants' operational standardization, data accuracy, and technical application ability. The design of the competition process is scientific, the referee team is rigorous and standardized, and each link is smoothly connected. Multiple participating teams have performed outstandingly in the competition, demonstrating solid professional skills and excellent professional ethics. As the organizer, Guangdong Vocational College of Science and Trade has received high praise from all parties for its organization and performance in the competition, fully reflecting the school's teaching strength and educational effectiveness in the field of food quality and safety.

On November 24th, the closing ceremony and award ceremony were held grandly. The meeting was chaired by Fu Jianguo, Vice President of the School of Food at Guangdong Vocational College of Science and Trade.
