The Cole-Parmer BH-200D-2 & BH-200D-2-HT Digital 2-Block Heater is designed for controlled heating in laboratory sample preparation and analytical procedures. Its dry block heating technology uses interchangeable aluminium blocks to transfer heat to laboratory containers without requiring a liquid heating medium.

The instrument accommodates two aluminium heating blocks, allowing users to select suitable configurations for different sample containers. Compatible applications include test tubes, microcentrifuge tubes, cuvettes, and microtitre plates. The interchangeable design provides flexibility when laboratory procedures involve different vessel formats.

Aluminium blocks provide thermal mass that helps distribute and retain heat. Heating elements transfer thermal energy through the blocks, creating a controlled heating environment for inserted samples. The digital control interface allows operators to adjust the temperature setting and monitor the actual block temperature. Indicator lights provide information about the heating process and operating status.

The standard and high-temperature versions offer different maximum heating capabilities, allowing laboratories to select an appropriate instrument according to their application requirements.

For reliable operation, aluminium blocks should be correctly positioned, and their contact surfaces should remain clean. Operators should allow sufficient cooling time before removing blocks and use the supplied extraction tool when necessary. The hot warning indicator should also be observed because the blocks may retain heat after the heating function is switched off.

Regular cleaning, inspection of contact surfaces, and appropriate temperature verification help maintain dependable heating performance. With its interchangeable block structure and digital temperature management, this dry block heater supports flexible sample heating across various laboratory procedures.
