Application method of small desktop circulating water multi-purpose vacuum pump
Date: 2025-12-05Read: 1
Small desktop circulating water multi-purpose vacuum pumps are widely used in various fields such as laboratories, chemistry, physics, biology, and environment. It uses circulating water as a cooling medium and generates negative pressure through a vacuum pump to meet various experimental needs. Here are its application methods and related precautions:
1、 System composition
Vacuum pump body
Usually, multi-stage impeller pumps or diaphragm pumps are used to provide high suction and stable vacuum.
Circulating water cooling system
There is a water circulation device inside, which takes away the heat generated by the pump through the water flow to prevent the equipment from overheating.
Pressure regulating device
Used to adjust and control the vacuum degree to ensure stable experimental conditions.
exhaust
Discharge the generated exhaust gas or gas outside the equipment to avoid polluting the experimental environment.
Connect pipelines and interfaces
According to different experimental requirements, configure appropriate interfaces and pipelines to connect experimental instruments.
2、 Application method
1. Used in chemical reactions
Purpose: Commonly used for substance extraction, fractionation, and evaporation in chemical reactions.
Operation method: Connect the vacuum pump to the reaction vessel, adjust the vacuum degree of the pump to the required negative pressure, and control the reaction conditions (such as lowering the boiling point, increasing the reaction rate, etc.).
Notes:
Ensure good sealing of the connection to prevent gas leakage.
Control the exhaust flow rate of the vacuum pump to prevent excessive extraction of the solution.
2. Solvent recovery
Purpose: To evaporate and recover solvents through low temperature or low pressure.
Operation method: Connect the vacuum pump to the recovery system (such as condenser), start the pump and adjust the vacuum degree to evaporate the solvent at low temperature, and recover it through the condenser.
Notes:
Ensure that the condenser is functioning properly and prevent the escape of evaporated gases.
When using non-volatile solvents, special attention should be paid to the sealing of the vacuum system.
3. Vacuum drying
Purpose: Suitable for substances that require drying in low-pressure environments, such as biological samples, drugs, etc.
Operation method: Connect the vacuum pump to the drying chamber, adjust the vacuum degree of the pump, maintain a low-pressure environment, and achieve rapid drying effect.
Notes:
Prevent the sample from being damaged due to rapid dehydration in vacuum.
Use appropriate temperature control to avoid excessive heat damage to the sample in a vacuum state.
4. Evaporation and concentration
Purpose: To concentrate liquid samples and accelerate the evaporation of solutions by reducing the evaporation point.
Operation method: Connect the vacuum pump to the evaporation device, control the negative pressure of the pump to ensure smooth evaporation process.
Notes:
Pay attention to maintaining device stability and preventing excessive evaporation.
If using highly volatile solvents, be careful to avoid leaks and fire hazards.
5. Gas extraction and analysis
Purpose: Commonly used for gas extraction and analysis, such as gas sampling, vacuum degree measurement, etc.
Operation method: Extract, collect or analyze gas by adjusting the negative pressure of the vacuum pump.
Notes:
Ensure the airtightness of connecting pipelines and interfaces.
Avoid sample damage caused by excessive operation of the vacuum pump.
3、 Usage steps
Installation and Connection
Connect the vacuum pump and experimental device through appropriate pipelines and interfaces to ensure interface sealing and prevent leakage.
Add circulating water
Add an appropriate amount of circulating water to the water cooling system of the pump to ensure the cooling effect. The water flow rate should be moderate and not too high or too low.
Adjust the vacuum degree
Start the vacuum pump, adjust the vacuum degree of the pump, and ensure that the required negative pressure is achieved.
Observation and monitoring
Real time monitoring of the vacuum level, pump operation status, and water flow of the system through pressure regulating devices, instruments, or display screens.
Shutdown and Cleaning
After use, turn off the vacuum pump, eliminate the gas in the system, clean the pipeline and pump body. Regularly replace the water in the water cooling system to prevent the accumulation of scale and impurities.
4、 Precautions during use
Maintenance of water circulation system
Regularly check the water cooling system to prevent water circulation blockage or pump overheating.
Ensure clean water quality and avoid corrosion of the pump body.
Maintenance of vacuum pump
Regularly check the working status of the pump body and motor, clean the filter and exhaust system.
Be careful to avoid overloading the pump body, and stop the machine and rest in a timely manner after working for a long time.
Laboratory Safety
Ensure good ventilation in the experimental environment to avoid leakage of highly volatile chemicals.
Be careful to prevent liquid splashing and avoid contact with high-temperature surfaces during use.
