What kind of optical device is a quartz colorimetric dish
Date: 2025-11-08Read: 0
Quartz cuvette is a core optical device used in spectral analysis for substance detection in the ultraviolet to near-infrared band (usually 190-2500nm). It is made of high-purity silicon dioxide as raw material and precision processed to have good optical properties and chemical stability
Quartz cuvette is an optical device used to hold reference and sample liquids, mainly used in spectroscopic analysis instruments to achieve quantitative and qualitative analysis of substances.
Here is a detailed introduction about it:
Material characteristics: The quartz colorimetric dish is made of quartz glass, and its main component is silicon dioxide. It is suitable for the full range of ultraviolet visible near-infrared (190-2500nm), especially in the ultraviolet region (190-340nm), and has the characteristics of high temperature resistance and corrosion resistance, with relatively high mechanical strength.
Classification: According to usage, it can be divided into conventional colorimetric dishes, fluorescent colorimetric dishes, flow colorimetric dishes, etc. Conventional colorimetric dish with both sides transparent, used for ordinary spectrophotometers; Fluorescent colorimetric dishes are usually made of quartz material, transparent on all sides, and used for fluorescence spectrophotometers; The mobile colorimetric dish has liquid inlet and outlet, and can be used in conjunction with a flow injection analyzer or high-performance liquid chromatography.
Precautions for use: When loading the sample, inject the liquid to a height of 2/3-3/4 of the colorimetric dish to avoid overflow or bubble interference, and use a pipette to add the sample to avoid direct pouring and contamination. When holding a colorimetric dish, grip the frosted surface to avoid touching the translucent surface. When cleaning, avoid using hydrofluoric acid to prevent surface corrosion. After cleaning, air dry naturally or blow dry with nitrogen to avoid scratching caused by wiping.
Application areas: Quartz colorimetric dishes are widely used in various industries and fields such as chemical, metallurgical, medical, food, environmental protection, etc. They are important experimental tools for colleges and research institutions, and can be used for the analysis of UV sensitive substances such as nucleic acids and proteins.
Cleaning method
Conventional cleaning: Soak in ethanol or acetone and rinse. If the stains are stubborn, use a specialized cleaning solution (such as petroleum ether immersion), but complete the cleaning within 10 minutes. ‌
Special pollution treatment: Residual strong acid/alkali solution can be washed with pure water and then neutralized with weak acid/alkali solution. ‌
Prohibited use: dishwashing detergent, alkaline solution, and hard brushes to avoid scratching the surface.
