Sharing of standardized cleaning process for Roboz hemostatic forceps
Date: 2025-12-15Read: 36

The cleanliness of Roboz hemostatic forceps, as precision instruments in surgical and emergency procedures, directly affects patient safety and hospital infection control. If not cleaned properly, residual blood, tissue, or biofilm may not only accelerate mechanical corrosion, but also become a breeding ground for pathogenic microorganisms. Therefore, Roboz hemostatic forceps follow standardized and regulated cleaning procedures, which is the main link to ensure their functional integrity and clinical safety.

1、 Preprocess immediately after use
After the surgery, the surface of the hemostatic forceps should be immediately rinsed with flowing water to prevent visible blood stains and tissue residue from drying and solidifying. If it is not possible to enter the cleaning process immediately, the instrument can be soaked in enzyme containing cleaning solution or physiological saline to prevent organic matter from drying up - do not use hot water to prevent protein denaturation from becoming more difficult to remove.
2、 Hand cleaning: meticulous attention to detail
In a dedicated cleaning tank, use a soft bristled brush (recommended nylon material) dipped in a multi enzyme cleaning agent, focusing on brushing the clamp shaft, teeth, joint gaps, and other areas that are prone to dirt and grime accumulation. During operation, the jaws should be opened to ensure that the cleaning solution fully contacts all surfaces. Avoid using hard tools such as steel wire balls and sandpaper to prevent scratching the metal surface and damaging the passivation layer.
3、 Ultrasonic cleaning (recommended)
For hemostatic forceps with complex structures (such as buckles and slender joints), it is recommended to perform ultrasonic cleaning. Immerse the instrument in an enzyme solution and set the frequency to 40-45 kHz for 5-10 minutes. The ultrasonic cavitation effect can penetrate into small gaps and efficiently remove stubborn stains. After cleaning, rinse 2-3 times with deionized water or distilled water to remove residual cleaning agents.
4、 Lubrication and drying
After cleaning, immerse the hemostatic forceps in the specialized lubricant for medical devices for about 30 seconds to form a protective film, preventing joint corrosion and maintaining smooth opening and closing. Then place it in a drying cabinet and dry it with hot air at 60-70 ℃ for 15-30 minutes to ensure that there is no residual moisture in the cavity - moisture is the main cause of stainless steel pitting and mold spots.
5、 Inspection and handover
After drying, visually inspect the clamp end for good fit, no deformation, and no rust stains; Test whether the opening and closing are flexible and whether the lock buckle is reliable. Only qualified equipment can enter the packaging and sterilization process. Throughout the process, protective gloves and face shields should be worn, and the sensing control regulations should be followed.
