Scientific maintenance of the diagenode crusher is the key to ensuring reliable experimental results
Date: 2025-12-15Read: 0

The diagenode disruptor is widely used in fields such as molecular biology, cell lysis, and nanomaterial dispersion due to its advantages of no probe insertion, avoiding cross contamination, and batch processing. The core principle is to transfer ultrasonic energy to the sample tube through water bath coupling, achieving a gentle and efficient crushing effect. However, long-term high-frequency operation poses challenges to equipment stability. Scientific maintenance of the diagenode crusher is the key to ensuring its long-lasting performance and reliable experimental results.

1、 Ultrasonic sink cleaning (after each use or daily)
The sink is a medium carrier for energy transfer, and water quality directly affects ultrasonic efficiency and equipment lifespan. After each experiment, the old water should be poured out and the inner wall should be rinsed with deionized water or distilled water to remove residual salt, biofilm, or impurities. If there is white scale on the sink (especially in hard water areas), soak it in 5% -10% white vinegar or a specialized descaling agent for 30 minutes, then scrub and rinse thoroughly. It is strictly prohibited to use strong acids, strong alkalis, or abrasive cleaning agents to avoid damaging the stainless steel liner or transducer surface.
2、 Transformer status check (once a month)
The transducer is the core component that converts electrical energy into ultrasonic waves, usually bonded to the bottom of a water tank. Visually inspect its surface for cracks, bulges, or delamination; At the same time, observe whether the flume produces abnormal noise or has no cavitation effect locally during operation (it can be judged by observing the bubble distribution by scattering a small amount of foam particles). If uneven energy output or a decrease in power is found, it may be due to aging of the transducer or a fault in the drive circuit, and the manufacturer should be contacted for maintenance.
3、 Cooling system maintenance (applicable to models with circulating cooling)
Some high-power models are equipped with external cooling circulation devices to prevent excessive water temperature from affecting ultrasonic efficiency. Regularly check the coolant level and color, and replace the antifreeze coolant every 3-6 months; Clean the filter of the cooling fan to ensure good ventilation. If the water temperature continues to be high, it is necessary to check whether the water pump is blocked or whether the refrigeration module is malfunctioning.
4、 Electrical and control system maintenance (quarterly)
Check if the power cord and plug are damaged; Clean the dust in the gaps between the control panel and buttons; Whether the calibration time, power, temperature and other parameters are displayed accurately. For devices with temperature control function, it is recommended to use a standard thermometer to compare and verify the water temperature sensor annually.
5、 Storage and Environmental Management
The equipment should be placed on a dry, ventilated, and electromagnetic interference free experimental table, avoiding direct sunlight. When not in use for a long time, be sure to empty the sink and keep the inside dry, cover it with a dust cover to prevent moisture from corroding the circuit board.
