  Water hardness testerIt is an instrument used to measure the content of metal ions such as calcium and magnesium in water. It plays an important role in water quality monitoring, drinking water treatment, industrial water use, agricultural irrigation, and other fields.
  Water hardness testerThe working principle of is mainly based on electrochemical methods and composite indicator methods:
Electrochemical method: Determine the total amount of calcium and magnesium ions in water by measuring the change in potential difference between electrodes. In water quality, calcium ions react with the lead electrode on the electrode, while magnesium ions react with the aluminum hydroxide electrode. After amplifying and processing the potential signal of the electrode, the detection result of the total amount of calcium and magnesium ions in the reaction is output. This method is fast and accurate, and can reflect the hardness of water quality in real time.
Composite indicator method: using one or more organic chemical indicators to determine the hardness in water quality through color changes. The indicator will make the water sample solution present a specific color and absorbance, and the color depth is proportional to the amount of calcium and magnesium ions in the water quality. The detection result of water hardness can be obtained by measuring the depth of color through spectroscopic instruments or colorimetric dishes. This method is easy to operate and suitable for rapid on-site testing.
