The basic structure and working principle of Rxi capillary column
Date: 2025-09-05Read: 0
Rxi capillary columnAs a key separation component in gas chromatography analysis, its structural design and precise working principle provide reliable guarantees for efficient separation of complex samples.
1. In terms of basic structure,Rxi capillary columnComposed of quartz capillary tubes with specially treated inner walls, the tube wall forms a uniform fixed phase coating. The inner wall of the capillary is treated with a fine deactivation process to ensure surface inertness and avoid interaction with the analyte. The stationary phase is uniformly adhered to the inner wall of the capillary in the form of an extremely thin coating, forming a continuous layer of analytical medium. The thickness of the coating is precisely controlled, which directly affects the separation efficiency and selectivity. The outer layer of the capillary tube is usually wrapped with protective material to maintain the integrity and mechanical strength of the column structure. The two ends of the column are designed with precise sealed connections to ensure seamless integration with the chromatographic system.

2. In terms of working principle, separation function is achieved based on gas-liquid distribution chromatography theory. After the carrier gas carries the sample into the capillary column, the analyte is continuously distributed between the mobile phase and the stationary phase. Due to differences in solubility and adsorption capacity of different compounds in the stationary phase, their migration rates in capillary columns vary. The characteristics of polarity, molecular weight, and boiling point determine the strength of the interaction between the compound and the stationary phase, which in turn affects the retention time. The ultra smooth surface of the inner wall of the capillary ensures that the analyte moves in a laminar state, reducing the effect of eddy current diffusion. The uniformity of the stationary phase coating ensures the reproducibility of separation selectivity.
Rxi capillary columnThrough precise structural design and scientific separation principles, efficient separation of various components in complex mixtures has been achieved. Its excellent separation performance and stable analytical characteristics make it a key component in gas chromatography analysis, providing reliable technical support for scientific research and quality control.
