Classification Introduction of Microwave Continuous Flow Reactor
Date: 2025-11-27Read: 0
Microwave continuous flow reactorCombining the advantages of microwave heating and continuous flow reaction technology, the continuous flow and efficient reaction of reactants are achieved through microchannels, demonstrating high efficiency, safety, and controllability in fields such as chemical synthesis, material preparation, and biomedical research.

Classification:

According to the scale of reactants:

Capillary microwave continuous reactor: suitable for micro reactions such as drug molecule screening or catalyst precursor synthesis.

Single mode microwave continuous reactor: using a single-mode microwave cavity, the point field distribution is predictable, the repeatability is good, and it is suitable for low flow continuous flow processes.

Large scale microwave continuous reactor: using multi-mode microwave cavity, with large cavity space and modular power design, easy to increase, suitable for high flow continuous flow process.

According to the sample adding operation mode:

Continuous flow microreactor: continuous input of reactants and continuous output of products, achieving full process automation.

Semi continuous flow microreactors: Part of the reactants are continuously input, while others are intermittently added, suitable for multi-step reactions or complex synthesis.

Intermittent microreactors: batch addition of reactants and batch output of products, suitable for small-scale experiments or special reaction conditions.

Microwave continuous flow reactorAdvantages and disadvantages:

Advantages: fast heating, precise residence time, good batch consistency, small volume, low solvent and reagent usage, easy automation and online detection integration.

Disadvantages: Low heating efficiency of non-polar solvents; high salt/High solid content systems are prone to local overheating; The channel is prone to scaling and blockage; Microwave penetration depth is limited, and amplification requires matching cavity type and flow rate; High pressure and corrosive materials require strict selection and sealing.
