Portable gas detectorIt is a device used to detect the concentration of gas (including combustible gas and toxic gas) in the air. Mainly using principles such as electrochemical sensors and infrared sensors to detect gas in the air. When there is gas in the environment where the detector is located, the sensor will convert the gas concentration into an electrical signal, which will be processed by the circuit and displayed in the form of a digital or audible and visual alarm to remind the user to take timely safety measures.
Portable gas detectorSignificant features:
1. Highly portable
Small size and light weight: The equipment is designed to be compact and can usually be held with one hand or clipped onto collars or pockets, making it convenient for inspectors, maintenance workers, firefighters, and others to carry around.
Battery powered: Built in rechargeable lithium battery or standard dry battery, free from the constraints of power cords, can be tested anytime and anywhere.
2. Easy to operate, quick response
One click start: Most instruments use one click start, with a simple and clear operating interface. Non professionals can quickly get started after simple training.
Real time display: Equipped with LCD or LED display screen, it can display the concentration of combustible gases in the current environment in real time and continuously (usually expressed as a percentage of% LEL - lower explosive limit).
Fast response: High sensitivity sensors (such as catalytic combustion and infrared) are used to respond to gas leaks within seconds to tens of seconds.
3. Multiple alarm function
Sound and light alarm: When the gas concentration reaches the preset low and high alarm thresholds, a high-intensity sound alarm (buzzer) and flashing light alarm (LED light) will be emitted, which can be detected even in noisy or low light environments.
Vibration alarm (some models): provides an additional warning method for deaf and mute individuals or those working in high noise environments.
Adjustable alarm threshold: Users can set alarm points according to different safety standards or environmental requirements (such as 10% LEL low alarm, 20% LEL high alarm).
4. Durable and adaptable
High protection level: usually has a high IP protection level (such as IP65, IP67), can effectively prevent dust and water (splash or short-term immersion), suitable for use in harsh industrial sites, outdoor or humid environments.
Explosion proof design: Complies with ATEX, IECEx and other explosion-proof certifications to ensure that it will not become an ignition source when used in flammable and explosive environments.
Drop resistance: The shell is sturdy and can withstand a certain degree of drop and impact.
5. Intelligence and Data Management (Medium to High Models)
Data recording: It can store long-term detection data (such as TWA time weighted average, STEL short-term exposure limit, peak record) for easy post analysis and traceability.
Bluetooth/USB connection: supports wireless transmission of data to mobile apps or export to computers via USB, facilitating report generation and management.
Pump suction function (some models): Equipped with a built-in sampling pump, it can remotely sample and detect difficult to reach areas (such as inside pipelines and narrow spaces) through a probe.
6. Diverse sensor technologies
Catalytic Beam: The most common, low-cost, and sensitive to most combustible gases. But it may be affected by poisoning (silicon, lead compounds) and requires oxygen to participate in the reaction.
Infrared (NDIR): Good selectivity, long lifespan, not easily poisoned, does not require oxygen, suitable for hypoxic environments. But the cost is high and it is not suitable for certain gases such as hydrogen.
Semiconductor type: Low cost, but poor accuracy, easily affected by temperature and humidity, mostly used for low-end civilian products.
