This standard is applicable to edible salt.

Terms and definitions
edible salt
Salt primarily composed of sodium chloride and used for consumption.
Refined salt
Edible salt made from brine or salt using vacuum evaporation, mechanical thermal compression evaporation, or crushing, washing, and drying processes.
Crushed washing salt
Edible salt made from sea salt, lake salt, or rock salt using crushing and washing processes.
sun-dried salt
Edible salt produced by sun dried brine concentration crystallization process.
Low sodium salt
Edible salt processed from one or more of refined salt, crushed washing salt, sun salt, etc., with the addition of nationally permitted food additives (such as KCl) to reduce sodium ion concentration.

Technical Requirements
