Medical Device Paper Plastic Composite Bag Breathability TesterIt is a professional equipment used to test the gas permeability of medical device packaging materials such as paper plastic composite bags, based on the principle of pressure difference testing. This instrument simulates actual environmental conditions and measures the barrier performance of packaging materials against gases such as carbon dioxide and oxygen. It is suitable for measuring the gas permeability, solubility coefficient, diffusion coefficient, and permeability coefficient of plastic films, composite films, high barrier materials, sheets, metal foils, and other materials at various temperatures.
The working principle of this tester is mainly based on differential pressure testing. The pre processed sample is placed between the upper and lower testing chambers and clamped to ensure good sealing. Vacuum treat the low-pressure chamber (lower chamber) and then evacuate the entire system. Fill the high-pressure chamber (upper chamber) with a certain pressure of test gas (such as carbon dioxide) to create a constant pressure difference on both sides of the sample. Under the action of pressure gradient, gas permeates from the high-pressure side to the low-pressure side. The instrument monitors the pressure changes on the low-pressure side and calculates parameters such as gas permeability.
The importance of the breathability tester for medical device paper plastic composite bags:
1. Ensuring the quality and safety of medical supplies:
Preventing infection and allergies: Packaging with poor breathability may cause medical devices to become damp, oxidized, or contaminated with microorganisms, leading to infection or allergic reactions. By measuring the breathability of packaging materials, it can be ensured that they have good barrier properties, protecting the stability and safety of medical devices.
Extended shelf life: For medical devices that require long-term storage, the breathability of packaging materials directly affects their shelf life. By detecting breathability, it can be ensured that packaging materials can effectively prevent the penetration of gases and moisture, extending the service life of the product.
2. Meet regulatory and standard requirements: Medical device packaging must comply with relevant domestic and international regulations and standards (such as GB, ISO, ASTM, etc.). The test data provided by the breathability tester is an important basis for the compliance of packaging materials, helping companies avoid legal issues and economic losses caused by non-compliance with standards.
3. Optimize packaging materials and processes:
Material selection: By testing the breathability of different materials, companies can choose packaging materials that are more suitable for specific medical devices, improving product performance and quality.
Process improvement: Real time monitoring of the breathability of packaging materials during the production process to ensure product consistency and reduce defect rates.
4. Promoting technological innovation and sustainable development:
Provide performance evaluation methods for new packaging materials, such as biodegradable materials and high barrier materials, to promote technological progress in the packaging industry.
Support the development of green packaging by reducing the breathability of packaging materials and minimizing the impact of packaging waste on the environment.
