Practical Sharing (20): Research Report on the Application of JJRZ-2002S in Transporting KOH Solution

  1、 Test purpose
According to customer requirements, use JJRZ-20020S pump to transport 1mol/L KOH solution, evaluate the flow stability of the pump in transporting alkaline solution under normal temperature and heating conditions, and investigate whether there is a risk of crystallization blockage of the material after it is left to stand in the pump.
  2、 Materials and Equipment
Material: KOH solution, prepared by adding 56g of solid KOH per liter of deionized water. The solution is colorless and transparent, with a density of approximately 1.05g/mL and a pH value of 14.
Equipment: 1) JJRZ-2002S;
2) Water bath heating device (set temperature 85 ℃);
3) Mercury thermometer (used to measure the actual temperature of the material liquid).
 3、 Testing process
Firstly, conduct a water benchmark test;
2. Test the transport performance of KOH solution at five flow points of 10, 20, 40, 70, and 100 mL/min at room temperature;
3. Under the condition of heating at 85 ℃ in a water bath, set a flow rate of 70mL/min to circulate and transport materials. After the circulation is completed, retest the same flow rate at room temperature and heating at 85 ℃;
4. During the heating test, use a water bath for insulation, set the water bath temperature to 85 ℃, and after insulation for 1 hour, use a mercury thermometer to test the internal temperature of the material solution to be about 85 ℃. After pouring back the material solution for about 30 minutes, the temperature will reach 80-85 ℃ and continue the test.
5. After the experiment, stop the pump for about 1 hour and restart it at a flow rate of 70mL/min to test for blockage.

5、 Test results
The JJRZ-2002S pump has good flow linearity under normal temperature and 85 ℃ heating conditions when delivering 1mol/L KOH solution, and remains stable after continuous circulation for 3-4 hours; After stopping the pump for 1 hour and restarting it, no blockage occurred, indicating that short-term standing under these test conditions did not cause serious crystallization blockage problems.
  6、 Supplementary explanation
1. Considering the characteristics of the material, it is recommended to implement interval plunger cleaning during use, as a preventive mechanism would be better;
When cleaning the flow path of the pump, the replacement material must be safe liquid.
