Material compatibility analysis of micro nano 3D printers
Date: 2025-12-19Read: 3
Micro nano 3D printerManufacturing with micrometer level precision is achieved through layer by layer deposition, and its performance is highly dependent on the matching of material properties and process parameters.
Classification and Characteristics of Mainstream Materials
Photosensitive resin:
Advantages: High resolution (<2 μ m), low shrinkage (<3%), suitable for optical components.
Limitations: Poor thermal stability (Tg<150 ℃), requiring post curing treatment.
Metal powder:
Typical materials: stainless steel (316L), titanium alloy (Ti6Al4V).
Printing requirements: Particle size distribution should be<50 μ m, flowability should be>100 s/50g (Hall current meter).
Biological ink:
Cell compatibility: Must meet ISO 10993 standards, such as gelatin calcium alginate composite materials.
Printing window: The viscosity range needs to be adapted to the nozzle diameter (e.g. a 100 μ m nozzle requires a viscosity of 10-100 Pa · s).

Optimization strategy for material adaptability
Parameter matching:
UV curing: Adjust the laser power (50-200 mW) and scanning speed (5-50 mm/s) to balance resolution and curing depth.
Molten deposition: For PLA materials, set the nozzle temperature to 180-200 ℃ and the interlayer cooling time to less than 30 seconds.
Post processing plan:
Defatting sintering: Ceramic parts need to be sintered at 1200 ℃ with a shrinkage rate controlled at 15-20%.
Surface modification: Enhance the hydrophilicity of the bio ink surface (contact angle<10 °) through plasma treatment.
Future Trends
Composite material development: Introducing carbon nanotube reinforced resin to enhance mechanical properties (elastic modulus>3 GPa).
Intelligent material integration: Printing functional materials with photoresponsive (such as azobenzene polymers) or temperature sensitive properties.
Green manufacturing: Developing biodegradable bioinks (such as cellulose chitosan) to reduce environmental burden.
Selection suggestions
Laboratory level: Prioritize the use of UV curing systems (such as Nanoscribe GT) with a resolution of<500 nm.
Industrial grade: using laser selective melting (SLM) equipment, suitable for mass production of metal microstructures.
