Working principle of rotary steam flowmeter

The tested rotor type steam flowmeter body is throttled by an orifice plate, and under the action of the front and rear pressure difference, a part of the steam enters the splitter pipe nozzle through the nozzle to form a jet, which drives the rotor shaft to rotate at the upper end of the wing wheel. There are two damping blades at the lower end of the rotor shaft that rotate in a damping chamber filled with damping fluid, allowing the wing wheel to fully absorb the kinetic energy of the jet. When the rotational torque of the wing wheel is balanced with the damping torque, the rotational speed of the wing wheel is proportional to the mass flow rate of the measured steam flowing through the flowmeter. Through correction and division, the actual flow rate of accumulated steam is reflected by the indicator dial.
