The blue-green algae sensor utilizes the characteristic of blue-green algae having absorption and emission peaks in the spectrum. When blue-green algae emit monochromatic light from the absorption peak of the spectrum and irradiate water, the blue-green algae in the water absorb the energy of monochromatic light and release monochromatic light with another wavelength emission peak. The intensity of the light emitted by blue-green algae is proportional to the content of blue-green algae in the water. This sensor is easy to install and use.
