This is because there may be some adsorbed moisture or flammable substances in the cold detector or newly installed detector. After heating, at high temperatures, these adsorbed moisture evaporates and the flammable substances burn, consuming the reference air in the reference side battery, resulting in a lower oxygen content in the reference air than the normal value of 20.6%. This can cause the detector signal to be low or even negative, resulting in a higher measured oxygen content value, even greater than 20.6%. At this time, the measured value is inaccurate. Accurate measurements should only be made after the moisture and flammable substances inside the detector have been completely replaced by fresh air. So, the zirconia oxygen analyzer needs to be heated for at least one day before calibration can be performed.
