A portable hardness testing instrument, whose testing method originated in the United States and was introduced to China in the 1980s along with aluminum profile production lines. This instrument is based on the principle of mechanical indentation testing. It uses a hard steel indenter of a certain shape to press into the surface of the specimen under the action of standard spring test force. The material hardness is determined by the indentation depth of the indenter. The indentation depth of 0.01mm is defined as a Vickers hardness unit, expressed as HW. With its small size, light weight, and one handed operation, it can quickly, conveniently, and non destructively test the hardness of materials. It is very suitable for rapid, non-destructive piece by piece qualified inspection of batch products in production, sales, or construction sites.
