VM-3000 Mercury Vapor DetectorIt can continuously monitor the concentration of mercury in gases, and can be used in laboratories or installed anywhere where mercury needs to be monitored. VM-3000 uses a high-frequency driven infinite low pressure mercury lamp (EDL) as the ultraviolet light source. This type of lamp emits light with an extremely narrow bandwidth, which is consistent with the absorption spectrum of Hg atoms, thereby reducing the factors affecting sensitivity to a very low level. The UV light source in VM-3000 adopts a reference beam feedback control method, which has high stability. The total background noise is below 0.1 µ g/m ³. To avoid baseline drift caused by temperature, both the lamp and detector maintain a stable temperature. The optical unit has a heating function, so water vapor does not interfere.

Measuring principle

The mercury concentration is detected in a fused silica optical unit. The maintenance free diaphragm pump continuously pumps air, and the sample gas is pumped into the optical unit for detection with ultraviolet light of 253.7 nm wavelength. This method is called "Cold Vapor Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy CVAAS", which has high sensitivity and is a classic and mature method. Compared with atomic fluorescence spectroscopy (AFS), AAS has lower interference, no need for gold amalgam enrichment, no expensive carrier gas, and lower operating costs.
