Product Details

The Italian VELP company's CN 802 carbon and nitrogen analyzer can be applied to solid or liquid samples and has the following characteristics:
The VELP CN 802 carbon and nitrogen analyzer can complete the analysis of carbon and nitrogen in a sample in 3-4 minutes, providing an ideal solution for high-throughput and fully automated analysis.
Carbon and nitrogen analysis was carried out using combustion method. The samples were burned in a combustion furnace (CF), and then the moisture was removed by a physical condensation method (DriStepTM). The compounds produced by the combustion were reduced through a reduction tube (RF). The NDIR near-infrared detector can accurately determine the carbon content, and then the nitrogen content can be measured by the TCD detector after passing through the CO2 capture device.
VELP's independently developed NDIR near-infrared detector detects a line level of 0.01mg C and a detection range from ppm to 99% C.
Accurate and precise carbon and nitrogen analysis, with detection limits of 0.01mg C and 0.001mgN, respectively, and RSD%<0.5% (EDTA), can analyze sample sizes as low as 200mg or 1g, achieving ideal results with minimal consumable consumption.
Equipped with a dual carrier gas system, helium or argon can be used as the carrier gas, allowing for flexible selection without the need for hardware upgrades.
Combined with the VELP Ermes cloud platform, the operation status of the instrument can be accessed anytime and anywhere through a web page on a PC or mobile device.
In the field of modern analytical chemistry, accurate and rapid determination of carbon and nitrogen content in organic matter is crucial for scientific research, product quality control, environmental monitoring, and other aspects. Carbon and nitrogen analyzer, as a high-precision analytical instrument specifically used to determine the carbon and nitrogen content in solid, liquid or gas samples, plays an important role in agriculture, environmental science, food industry and other fields due to its easy operation, fast speed and high accuracy.
VELP carbon and nitrogen analyzers are typically based on analytical principles such as combustion and Dumas methods. In the combustion method, the sample is burned in a high-temperature and oxygen rich environment, and the carbon and nitrogen in the organic matter are converted into carbon dioxide and nitrogen, respectively. These gases undergo a series of processing steps, including drying, adsorption, and separation, and are ultimately quantitatively analyzed by a detector. The Dumas method is particularly suitable for determining protein content, as it heats the sample to high temperatures to directly convert nitrogen in the protein into nitrogen gas, which is then quantitatively analyzed.
The core components of a carbon nitrogen analyzer include a combustion furnace, a reduction furnace, an adsorption device, and a detection system. The combustion furnace provides the necessary high-temperature environment for the combustion of organic matter in the sample. The reduction furnace is used to reduce the nitrogen oxides produced by combustion into nitrogen gas. The adsorption device is responsible for removing interfering components such as moisture and impurity gases from the combustion gas. Detection systems, such as thermal conductivity detectors or infrared detectors, are used to accurately measure the concentrations of carbon dioxide and nitrogen, thereby achieving quantitative analysis of carbon and nitrogen content.
Sample pretreatment is crucial when operating a VELP carbon and nitrogen analyzer. Solid samples need to be crushed and mixed to ensure their representativeness; Liquid samples need to be uniform and free of precipitation. The preparation and loading of samples should follow the instrument's instruction manual to avoid contamination and errors. At the same time, the calibration and maintenance of instruments cannot be ignored. Regular calibration can ensure the accuracy of data, while appropriate maintenance can extend the service life of instruments.
In soil science, VELP carbon and nitrogen analyzer is used to analyze the organic matter content in soil, evaluate soil fertility and health status. In environmental science, it is used to monitor carbon and nitrogen pollutants in water bodies and the atmosphere, and assess the degree of environmental pollution. In the food industry, carbon and nitrogen analyzers are used to determine the protein content in food, ensuring product quality and nutritional value. In addition, carbon and nitrogen analyzers play an important role in fields such as biomedicine, chemical engineering, and agricultural research.
Although carbon and nitrogen analyzers have the characteristics of high efficiency and accuracy, there are also some factors that need to be taken into account when using them. The pre-treatment of the sample must be strictly carried out according to the requirements to ensure the accuracy of the analysis. Meanwhile, the calibration and maintenance of instruments are also crucial, and regular standardization and calibration can ensure the accuracy of data. In addition, operators need to undergo professional training to master the operation skills and data analysis methods of the instrument.
