UV-1800 has a compact and innovative appearance, with a streamlined design. It can be used as a standalone instrument or controlled by a computer, with a built-in USB I/F that supports USB flash drives, enhancing compatibility with the computer.

Operating procedures for UV-1800 UV visible spectrophotometer:


1、 Power on:

1. First, connect the power to the UV detector, turn on the switch button (the instrument starts automatic scanning), and turn on the computer.

2. Double click the "UVProbe2.35" icon on the desktop, open the software, enter "admin" in the username bar, and click "OK".

3. Click on the "Connect" icon in the bottom corner to complete the instrument scan. Click "OK" ->"OK", then press the "enter" ->"F4" button on the UV detector, and click the "Connect" button on the computer.

2、 Method setting:

1. Click on the circled M (method) in the upper right corner of the screen, enter the wavelength scanning range (wavelength range 1100-190), select the scanning speed (usually Medium), and the scanning mode is usually set to "Single" by default. Press the "OK" button.

2. Press "Baseline" to bring up a dialog box, click "OK".

Press the "Go To WL" button, enter the wavelength "750" as shown in the figure below, and click "OK".

Press' Auto Zero 'again to perform automatic zeroing.

3、 Sample testing

1. Add blank solution and perform baseline scan.

Attention: Place the sample colorimetric dish on the outer side (close to the operator), and place the blank colorimetric dish on the inner side. Both colorimetric dishes are filled with blank solution.

2. Place the sample solution into the sample pool for sample measurement and click "Start"; After the absorption curve is completed, a window will pop up, and the measured data file will be named and saved to a folder.

3. Click on the "peak pick" icon in the upper right corner, and the maximum absorption wavelength of the measured substance can be seen from the table in the upper left corner.

4. Click on the "Report" icon, select the desired content in the left column, and generate a report.

5. Shutdown: First, turn off the computer, then press the "return" button of the UV instrument to return to the main interface, turn off the instrument switch, and unplug the power.

4、 Attention:

When starting the UV instrument, check if the light source is normal. Generally, it needs to be preheated for 1-2 hours to reduce measurement errors.

When calibrating the baseline, both the colorimetric dish containing the blank solution and the colorimetric dish containing the sample should be filled with blank solution, and the colorimetric dish containing the blank solution should be placed inside; Corrosive liquids cannot be placed in the sample pool; The two smooth surfaces of the colorimetric dish are prone to corrosion and should not be touched by hand; Use paired colorimetric dishes for each measurement.

When "Go To WL" is used to zero the absorbance, the wavelength can be selected as 750 or 500nm, usually 750nm.

When the UV detector is turned off, you need to first press the "return" button to return to the main interface, and then turn off the instrument switch.
