Quantum cascade laser (EC-QCL) is a tunable shock wavelength laser that can undergo controlled stepwise changes in wavelength output. This enables the application of lasers in a wide range of spectroscopic applications. The $r $n quantum cascade laser (QCL) uses specially grown semiconductor chips as the gain medium of the laser. The energy of semiconductor chips is provided by external power. The optical cavity of the $r $n laser contains reflective surfaces that repeatedly reflect the laser beam through the gain medium. Every time it passes through the gain medium, the laser beam gains more energy.
