The comprehensive testing of the aging performance of simulated insulators in actual working environments mainly includes: atmospheric dirt (dust test, rainfall (rain test), solar radiation (light aging test discharge (partial discharge test)), high temperature and high humidity (high and low temperature alternating humidity test), aging of corrosive components in the atmosphere, composite salt spray corrosion test, etc.
Some people believe that the aging of ceramic insulator materials under direct current voltage is caused by the migration of alkali metal ions, especially Na "ions, which form atoms with a volume twice that of ions due to the acquisition of electrons during migration. Local expansion stress mainly causes insulator breakage at the top of the insulator. Another viewpoint is that ion migration causes conductive layers with different electrical resistivity inside the ceramic, resulting in uneven electric field distribution, which can lead to penetration after prolonged exposure. In order to verify its aging causes during operation, electrical manufacturers must conduct a simulated test of its working state in the natural atmospheric environment.
