The reaction gas is carried by the carrier gas and dehydrated by a membrane dryer before entering the reaction chamber. In the reaction chamber, sulfur dioxide is converted into an excited state of sulfur dioxide (SO2 *) after being irradiated with ultraviolet light of a specific wavelength. When SO2 * transitions to the ground state, photons are emitted and received by a photomultiplier tube. After amplification by an amplifier and data processing by a computer, it can be converted into an electrical signal proportional to the light intensity. Under certain conditions, the fluorescence intensity generated in the reaction is proportional to the amount of sulfur dioxide produced, and the amount of sulfur dioxide is proportional to the total sulfur content in the sample. Therefore, the total sulfur content in the sample can be determined by measuring the fluorescence intensity. Before analyzing the sample, use a standard sample that is close to the sample to create a calibration curve. Then, analyze the sample under the same conditions. The program automatically calculates the sulfur content of the sample based on the calibration curve of the standard sample.
