Product Details

Bimetallic thermometer

1、 Purpose:

Bimetallic thermometer is an industrial instrument suitable for on-site detection of medium and low temperatures. Can be used to directly measure the temperature of gases, liquids, and vapors. The live contact bimetallic thermometer can automatically send control signals to cut off power or alarm when the working temperature exceeds the given value.

Bimetallic thermometers have the advantages of being mercury free, easy to read, sturdy, and vibration resistant. They can replace industrial glass mercury thermometers and are widely used in industrial and scientific research sectors.

Bimetallic thermometers are divided into three types: ordinary type, outdoor type, and anti-corrosion type. The ordinary shell is plated with iron sheet and the protective tube is made of stainless steel, suitable for general indoor use. The outdoor shell is made of aluminum, and the protective tube and connecting column are all made of stainless steel, which has good sealing performance and is suitable for indoor and outdoor environments. It is generally corrosion-resistant. The anti-corrosion shell is made of all stainless steel and has a protective tube. The connecting column can be made of molybdenum titanium material, and the connecting parts are sealed with sealant, which can be used for measuring most corrosive media and gases.

2、 Structural principle

The temperature sensing element of the bimetallic thermometer adopts a multi turn straight threaded bimetallic sheet. One end is fixed, and the other end (free end) is connected to the core shaft. The axial thermometer pointer is directly mounted on the core shaft. The radial structure indicator pin is connected to the core shaft through a corner spring. When the temperature changes, the free end of the temperature sensing element rotates, and the pointer rotates through the core shaft to indicate the change in temperature of the measured medium on the dial.

Electric contact thermometer, with movable contacts installed on the pointer and fixed contacts installed on the device pointer. The contact rotates with temperature changes. When the temperature reaches or exceeds the set value, the contact closes and sends a signal to achieve automatic control and alarm.

3、 Characteristics of bimetallic thermometers

The thermometer should be regularly maintained and repaired under normal use. Normally, it is best to do it every six months. Electric contact thermometers are not suitable for working under strong shock to avoid affecting the reliability of the contacts. Multiple bimetallic thermometers are not suitable for measuring the temperature of the medium inside open containers, and live contact thermometers are more suitable for use in control circuits in situations where the working shock is greater than wings.

During the storage, installation, and transportation of bimetallic thermometers, care should be taken to avoid colliding with the protective tube. The protective tube should not be bent or deformed, and the thermometer should not be used as a wrench.

The length of the bimetallic thermometer protection tube immersed in the measured medium must be greater than the length of the temperature sensing element. The normal immersion length is greater than 98mm, and the immersion length in the 0-50 ℃ range is greater than 152mm to ensure the accuracy of the measurement.

The advantages of bimetallic thermometers are fast response speed, small size, good linearity, and stability.

4、 Installation fixed form

In order to meet the needs of actual production, bimetallic thermometers have different installation and fixing forms: movable external threaded pipe joints, movable internal threaded pipe joints, fixed threaded joints, sleeve threaded joints, sleeve flange joints, and fixed flanges.
