Product Details

SpectraMax ABS series light absorption enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) reader

SpectraMax ABS series light absorption enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) readerThe SpectraMax ABS micro hole reader combines the high cost-effectiveness of a filter based reader with the flexibility of a grating based system. The SpectraMax ABS Plus microplate reader can be used for both colorimetric and microplate applications on the same instrument. Use any standard colorimetric dish to read a single sample or use 96 and 384 well plates to read up to 384 samples on a single well plate. For higher sample throughput,SpectraMax ABS seriesCan easily integrate fully automated systems to meet sample processing needs.

Instrument advantages:

1. Compact design

2. It has extremely low volume and compatibility with 96 or 384 well plates with * flux

3. The powerful data analysis capabilities of SoftMax Pro software

4. Performance brought by verification tools

Flexible and adjustable filter free system

Use a grating monochromator Jingque to select each detection wavelength. The ABS reader has a wavelength range of 340-850 nm, while the ABS Plus reader has a range of 190-1000 nm, which is equivalent to having 510 or 810 built-in filters, respectively.

Excellent performance

The two plate readers adopt advanced optical path design and electronic components, supporting detection of round bottom, flat bottom or half area orifice plates, achieving high-performance performance. Up to 6 different wavelengths can be selected for a single reading to obtain as many data points as possible in one experiment. Temperature control can reach 45 ° C, enabling dynamic experimentsCan be conducted at both ambient and physiological temperatures.

Flexible and adjustable filter free system

The SpectraMax ABS Plus plate reader uses Molecular Devices' PathCheck optical path correction sensor to measure the depth (optical path length) of microplate samples. When using SoftMax Pro data acquisition and analysis software, this feature automatically standardizes the absorbance of each well to 1 cm optical path absorbance. Equivalent to having 96 or 384 colorimetric dishes.

By using PathCheck optical path correction sensor, even samples with different volumes in the hole can be accepted, so there is no need to add liquid. The PathCheck optical path correction sensor will correct the sample volume difference in 96 or 384 well plates and automatically report it as a 1 cm absorbance value.

Expand the dynamic range to 6+OD. If the reading of the hole exceeds the range (>4 OD), reduce the sample volume in this hole, and then use PathCheck optical path correction sensor to re read the plate. 100 μ L (optical path of approximately 0.3 cm) of sample with a reading of 2.8 OD will be calibratedApproximately 9.2 OD.

Errors in adding liquid to 96 or 384 well plates will be detected. The PathCheck optical path correction sensor measures the volume difference between holes, which helps identify the cause of errors and eliminate them from the data, or correct the absorbance values.

Multi channel splitters and dispensers can be tested quickly and easily. By measuring the depth of liquid in the hole, the PathCheck optical path correction sensor can determine the volume of liquid separation. Even 96 or 384 channel splitters can be tested in just a few minutes.

Experimental examples

In genetics and molecular biology, quantification of nucleic acids and proteins is a necessary upstream test for many complex experiments. We can use Lambert Beer's law to directly calculate the concentration values of large molecular substances to be detected, such as nucleic acids and proteins. However, the theoretical basis is that the optical path (path) must be 1cm in order to obtain concentration results directly through OD values. Microporous plates are limited by their height, so the optical path cannot reach 1cm. SpectraMax ABS Plus, as MD's newly launched full wavelength light absorption microplate reader in 2018, covers the detection wavelength range of ultraviolet, visible, and near-infrared regions, and is compatible with the functions of standard 1cm spectrophotometers and microplate readers. Its PathCheck function can calibrate samples in microplates with any volume of 96 or 384 wells without being affected by temperature changes. OD under 1cm optical path length Value, equivalent to rapid detection by a 96 channel or 384 channel spectrophotometer.

Powerful data analysis

two modelsSpectraMax ABS readers are equipped with industry-leading SoftMax Pro data acquisition and analysis software, providing users with more flexibility. This software is designed to address various data analysis needs, from simple endpoint experiments to complex dynamic experiments using custom calculation methods, meeting the needs of both basic and advanced users. The software includes a series of preset experimental templates, analysis algorithms, and 21 different curve fitting options, providing a complete solution from data collection to data analysis and final output of data.

Easy instrument verification

The SpectraTest ABS1 light absorption verification board is tested for optical performance using NIST traceable standards. Testing can be completed in the user's laboratory according to their own schedule.
