Overview

Composite flexible packaging materials are closely related to our lives, from food packaging bags, drug packaging boxes, to cigarette packaging materials and other aspects, we are all in contact with and using composite flexible packaging materials. However, a large amount of organic solvents such as toluene, xylene, ethyl acetate, butanone, butyl acetate, ethanol, isopropanol, etc. are used in the printing, lamination, and coating processes of composite flexible packaging. These solvents are more or less residual in composite packaging materials. If packaging materials containing high residual solvents are used to package food, drugs, etc., it will harm people's health and affect food taste.

Product Details

The "toxic food bag" incident exposed by the Economic Channel of a plastic color printing company in Lanzhou is a typical problem of serious excessive residual benzene solvents.

For composite films that use organic solvents in the production process of composite printing, the residual solvent amount in the composite film should be detected.

In the revised standard "General Rules for Composite Films and Bags for YBB Drug Packaging (Trial)" in 2002, it was proposed that the residual amount of benzene solvents should be less than 3mg/m2, which is also a specific reference index for testing in this area in China.

Tenghai Analytical Instrument Co., Ltd. has launched the GC-6890 gas chromatograph for residual solvent analysis of packaging materials in response to market demand and relevant national standards. The instrument is equipped with two detectors: a high-sensitivity FID (hydrogen flame ionization detector) and a high-sensitivity TCD (thermal conductivity detector); Simultaneously equipped with dedicated chromatography columns for benzene series analysis and moisture analysis, for the detection of residual organic solvents in packaging materials

GC-6890The dedicated gas chromatograph for residual solvent analysis of packaging materials can not only determine solvent residues in packaging through headspace sampling, but also directly measure the purity and moisture content of the solvents used. It is an instrument for manufacturers of food, medicine, and cigarette packaging materials.
