Factors limiting the lifespan of welding tips
Welding operation temperature
The higher the welding temperature, the more likely it is to cause oxidation and corrosion of the welding nozzle. Please choose a soldering nozzle with a larger contact surface with the device to be soldered, and maintain low temperature as much as possible to complete the soldering operation. Tools with good heat resistance and keep the welding nozzle clean and free of oxidation.
Correct operating method
Excessive force can cause damage to components and solder joints. Do not use the welding nozzle as a screwdriver or sharp object to touch any object. Please choose the appropriate welding nozzle and welding temperature according to the situation of the welding operation.
Thickness of plating layer
Corrosion or wear of the soldering nozzle can shorten the lifespan of the soldering iron tip. Do not use any mechanical or chemical methods to clean the welding nozzle. Please use the cleaning methods provided by the original factory, such as brass wire cleaning balls, automatic welding nozzle cleaning machines, or sponges.
Welding nozzle oxidation
After oxidation, the thermal conductivity of the solder nozzle decreases and it is not easy to eat tin. The higher the temperature of the welding nozzle, the higher the probability of oxidation. To avoid oxidation of the soldering nozzle, please keep it in the soldered state when not in use and use the sleep and sleep mode settings of the JBC soldering station.
Flux and solder alloys
Excessive use of soldering flux during the welding process can cause corrosion of the soldered components. IPC recommends flux labeling that complies with ROL, REL, and ORL. The flux content of small-diameter tin wire may be insufficient, so please use flux if necessary.
