General description：

Anti GABA antibodies are produced using GABA-BSA as the immunogen for rabbits. Separate antibodies from the serum using immune specific purification methods. Antigen specific affinity separation can remove almost all rabbit serum proteins, including immunoglobulins that do not specifically bind to GABA.
GABA (gamma aminobutyric acid) is a multifunctional molecule present in various organisms, from prokaryotes to vertebrates. It exists in non neural structures such as the peripheral nervous system and endocrine system. Glutamate decarboxylase (GAD) catalyzes the decarboxylation of glutamate to form GABA.

Application：

Use rabbit anti GABA antibodies to detect the expression of GABA in neural cells of E19 day old rat embryonic brain by immunofluorescence assay. Perform triple IF staining using anti GABA antibodies and two types of anti GAD antibodies. Analyze the expression of GABA in cells isolated from the cerebral cortex of various animals, including rats, mice, rabbits, guinea pigs, and lizards, using immunohistochemical detection methods. Perform IHC analysis using rabbit anti GABA antibodies dissolved in 0.01M PBS (pH 7.4)+0.5% Triton-x100 solution at a ratio of 1:1000.

Rabbit anti GABA antibodies can be used for electron microscopy analysis of rat hippocampal tissue at a dilution of 1:4000. This antibody has also been used for immunohistochemical analysis of brain cells in fruit flies and American cockroaches, with a dilution range of 1:100-1:750.

Biochem/physiol Actions：

GABA (gamma aminobutyric acid) is the main inhibitory neurotransmitter of the central nervous system and a neuromodulator of some peripheral tissues. It can control heart rate, blood pressure, and respiratory processes. GABA promotes neuronal inhibition by interacting with GABA/benzodiazepine receptors and opening chloride ion channels. In the dot blot assay, rabbit anti GABA antibodies showed positive binding to GABA and GABA keyhole hemocyanin (KLH), and negative binding to bovine serum albumin (BSA).

Physical form：

Dissolved in 0.01M phosphate buffered saline, pH 7.4， Contains 1% BSA and 15 mM sodium azide.

Preparation Note：

If continuous use is required, it can be stored at 2-8 ° C for up to one month. If the storage time needs to be extended, the solution can be divided and frozen. It is not recommended to repeatedly freeze and thaw. If slight turbidity occurs during long-term storage, please clarify the solution by centrifugation before use.
