Assembly/Installation

SIMOTION D410-2 can be directly plugged into the modular SINAMICS S120 power module.

Alternatively, SIMOTION D410-2 can be installed on a mounting board (to be ordered separately) and connected to the power module via DRIVE CLiQ. In this case, the CUA31/CUA32 control unit adapter must be connected to the power module. SIMOTION D410-2 can only connect to one control unit adapter.

Siemens 840D Machine Tool MCP AgentWhen connecting the power module through CUA31/CUA32, the safety integration extension function cannot be used through the built-in terminals (F-DI, F-DO).

The AC/AC device type power module is connected to SIMOTION D410-2 through the DRIVE CLiQ interface. The book type inverter unit cannot be connected to SIMOTION D410-2.

The SIMOTION D410-2 installed on the mounting board can also operate without using a power module, for example

• In hydraulic applications, TM31 is used for analog input and analog output

Data storage/data backup

The SIMOTION D410-2 control unit will store persistent process data in a maintenance free manner (see technical data for required memory size). The real-time clock will be backed up for several days through SuperCap.

The system software, user data, and user programs are all backed up on the SIMOTION CF card. The retention process data of the control unit can also be stored on this CF card through system commands, such as when spare parts are needed.

This type of control unit is part of the SIMOTION D4x5-2 controller series and is designed for book type multi axis applications. The SIMOTION D410-2 control unit is divided into PROFIBUS type (D410-2 DP) and PROFIBUS/PROFINET type (D410-2 DP/PN).

• The SIMOTION D410-2 control unit is dedicated to the modular SINAMICS S120 PM240-2 and SINAMICS S120 PM340 power modules and can be directly connected to the power modules of this series. If necessary, SIMOTION D410-2 can also be installed on the mounting board (the mounting board needs to be ordered separately).
