Overview

The TOC-L series products of Shimadzu TOC total carbon analyzer adopt 680 ℃ combustion catalytic oxidation method. This method was developed by Shimadzu and is now widely used in the industry. The measurement range of the analyzer is 4 μ g/L~30000 μ g/L. Can achieve a detection limit of 4 μ g/L. This is the higher detection sensitivity that can be achieved using combustion catalytic oxidation method. In addition, the combustion catalytic oxidation method enables it to effectively oxidize not only easily decomposable low molecular weight organic compounds, but also insoluble and high molecular weight organic compounds that are difficult to decompose.

Principle of TOC testing biodegradation rate:

The material undergoes aerobic biodegradation testing under specific conditions, with continuous monitoring and regular measurement of the amount of carbon dioxide produced during the testing process. The ratio of the actual amount of carbon dioxide produced in the experiment to the theoretical amount of carbon dioxide that the material can produce is the biodegradation rate. Due to the fact that only organic carbon in the material can be metabolized by microorganisms, the theoretical release of carbon dioxide is calculated based on the measured value of actual organic carbon in the material.
