It provides single point communication for multiple pressure scanners and offers a simple solution for managing scanner pressure control. ECM4000 is built around the core functionality of creating and executing scripts, including responding to digital input control, looping digital output, looping pressure control, sending Ethernet commands, querying pressure scanners, or inserting timing delays. These basic functions can be programmed to help support various needs in pressure measurement systems.

The flexible design of ECM4000 makes it suitable for various applications. It can be used as the 'center' for any Scanivalve pressure measurement system. It provides a simple interface to manage the data collection of multiple pressure scanners, automatically coordinate the control pressure of scanners, and provide additional digital inputs and outputs to connect and manage various inputs and outputs. IEEE1588v2 supports allowing users to choose to provide accurate timestamps for hardware triggers from external sources, or use ECM4000 itself as an external trigger source for pressure scanners, all synchronized with IEEE1588 "Master". The heater can be integrated into the ECM4000 to allow operation at temperatures below zero, allowing the ECM4000 to be installed in remote areas during high-altitude flight testing.
