How to monitor the pollution trend of RO system inflow has always been a challenge. We often only notice the problem of fouling and blockage of the RO membrane by incoming water when it is necessary to clean it, resulting in the factory stopping production or even replacing the RO membrane components.

There are many methods used to measure the pollution trend of incoming water, including turbidity, particulate matter, and traditional manual SDI testing. Due to the inability of turbidity and particulate matter data to intuitively reflect the pollution or blockage effects of suspended substances in water on membranes, manual SDI testing methods can effectively and intuitively represent this trend of pollution and blockage. Therefore, the industry has always adopted this cumbersome, time-consuming, and inaccurate method to monitor the pollution situation of pure water system inlet water.

The fully automatic SDI monitoring system is based on microprocessor control, and the measurement is fully automated. The monitor casing complies with the NEMA 4X standard of the American Electrical Manufacturers Association and is designed specifically for installation and use in industrial environments. The filter bracket can use a universal 25mm filter. Simply press a button to replace the filter, and it will take 2 minutes to complete.

After the test is completed, the indicator starts flashing and the operator can record the data results. The display screen adopts LED backlight technology, and users can easily read the results in any environment.

The fully automatic SDI monitor can automatically and continuously monitor the pollution index (SDI value) in the influent of the RO reverse osmosis system. Operators can quickly perform routine checks on the operation of the RO pre-processing system without the need for time-consuming and inaccurate manual SDI testing.

The test pressure of the monitor is controlled by an efficient built-in pressure regulating valve, allowing the maximum inlet pressure to reach 1000psi. The wide pressure design allows water samples to be directly obtained from the high-pressure point of the RO source water pump. Avoiding secondary pressure treatment of the test water sample not only improves efficiency but also saves equipment costs such as inlet booster pumps. During operation, the test pressure is always displayed on the LED screen. If the inlet water pressure is lower than the ASTM specification, the monitor will immediately sound an alarm and stop testing.
