Product Details

Vascular endothelial growth factor, also known as vascular permeability factor (VPF) and vascular endothelial growth factor-A, is an effective mediator of fetal and adult angiogenesis and angiogenesis. It is a member of the platelet-derived growth factor (PDGF)/vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) family and typically exists in the form of a homodimer linked by disulfide bonds. VEGF-A protein is a glycosylated mitogen that specifically acts on endothelial cells and has multiple effects, including mediating increased vascular permeability, inducing angiogenesis, angiogenesis, and endothelial cell growth, promoting cell migration, inhibiting cell apoptosis, and tumor growth. VEGF-A protein is also a vasodilator that increases microvascular permeability, hence it was initially referred to as vascular permeability factor.
