Beta nerve growth factor (Beta NGF) is a 27 kDa cytokine containing 241 amino acid residues. β - NGF belongs to the neurotrophin family and is a type of neurotrophic factor. It is composed of alpha, beta, and gamma subunits, with the beta subunit being related to its biological activity. β - NGF binds to the p75 neurotrophin receptor and Trk receptor, whose functions are cell death and survival, respectively.
