Background introduction:

Interleukin-11 (IL11) belongs to the IL-6 cytokine family and was isolated from bone marrow stromal cells in 1990. It is a multifunctional secreted cytokine in the human body. Human derived mature IL11 is composed of 178 amino acids without glycosylation modification. It exerts a wide range of biological functions by binding to the IL-11R α/gp130 receptor complex and activating downstream signaling pathways such as JAK/STAT.

Its classic function is to promote megakaryocyte maturation and enhance platelet production, and it is also a prototype molecule for the treatment of thrombocytopenia after clinical chemotherapy; Simultaneously possessing multiple functions such as immune inflammation regulation, mucosal tissue repair, bone metabolism regulation, fat differentiation inhibition, and embryonic development regulation. In recent years, research has confirmed that IL11 is closely related to multi organ fibrosis, tumor microenvironment, and aging, and is a popular research target factor in the fields of hematopoiesis, immunity, fibrosis, tumors, and aging.
