QV100 Portable Rapid ViscometerInstallation steps
1. Select a relatively horizontal position (desktop or ground), place the instrument horizontally, check the level with a random horizontal bubble, and adjust it as needed.
2. Open the upper cover, press the measuring cell to unlock, and slowly lift the measuring cell with your hand after pressing to unlock; Turn on the power switch and confirm that the battery is sufficient (real-time battery level will be displayed about one minute after turning on).
3. Set the target temperature.
4. Select a suitable viscometer, confirm that the viscometer is dry and clean, and insert it vertically into the instrument measuring cell.
5. Remove the waste liquid bottle from the storage bin of the instrument waste liquid bottle, and insert the PU tube of the waste liquid bottle into the quick connector on the left side of the box according to the label to install the waste liquid bottle.
6. Take out the cleaning bottle from the storage bin of the box, remove the cleaning bottle cap from the box cover, and fill it with cleaning solution such as 120 solvent gasoline or petroleum ether for later use.
7. Take out the micropipette and suction nozzle from the top cover for later use.
Sample preparation
Suspended impurity samples can change the depth of nozzle insertion to avoid impurities.
For samples with excessive impurities, it is recommended to filter them with gauze or filter paper to avoid clogging the capillary tube of the viscometer.
QV100 Portable Rapid ViscometerOperation Manual
1. When the instrument has reached the set target temperature, click the "Test" button on the screen, use a micropipette to draw 300-500ul of sample, and inject it uniformly along the inner wall of the bottom of the viscometer cup.
2. The instrument will automatically complete the test and report the test results on the viscosity testing interface. The first sound "drip" emitted by the instrument indicates the start of timing, and the second sound "drip" emitted by the instrument indicates the end of timing. The test results are also reported on the viscosity testing interface.
3. After the timer ends, immediately inject 3-5ml of cleaning solution, and the negative pressure pump of the instrument will extract the waste liquid after delayed soaking. Repeat this process 3-5 times, then wait for the instrument to automatically dry the capillary and maintain a constant temperature.
4. When the instrument screen displays that the set target temperature has been reached, the next test can begin.
Retract steps
1. After the instrument completes the final cleaning procedure and displays idle, turn off the power, remove the viscosity tube from the measuring tank and store it in the viscosity tube storage tube, then place it back in its fixed position. Manually fold down the measuring pool and confirm locking.
2. Pour the waste liquid from the waste liquid bottle into a qualified waste liquid collection area in the laboratory to avoid environmental pollution, and store the waste liquid bottle in a dedicated storage location inside the instrument.
3. Store and reset accessories such as cleaning bottles, pipettes, suction nozzles, and horizontal bubbles.
4. Cover the instrument box and lock it.
calibration
1. Temperature calibration
The temperature needs to be calibrated regularly. After the instrument reaches the target temperature, insert a mercury thermometer with the corresponding measurement range that has been measured into the measuring cell. After the mercury thermometer displays a constant temperature, enter the reading into the measured temperature column of the temperature correction interface, and the instrument will automatically correct the temperature.
2. Constant calibration
The new viscometer must be calibrated (verified) before use, and the viscometer in use needs to be calibrated every 2 years. Calibration can be carried out by the local metrology management department or the manufacturer. Clean and dry the viscosity meter to be verified.
Test the standard viscosity liquid with a kinematic viscosity of v1. If a sample is measured continuously for 4 times and the difference between the maximum and minimum values of the flow time meets the repeatability requirements in Table 4, the average of the 4 measurements is taken as t1. If there is one out of tolerance,
Suspicious data should be discarded, and the average of the remaining three should be taken as t1. If two of them exceed the tolerance, this set of data is invalid, and the viscometer should be cleaned and retested.
Take a standard viscosity liquid with a kinematic viscosity of v2 for testing, follow the above steps to test, and measure the flow time as t2.
Calculation: C1=ν 1/t1, C2=ν 2/t2. If the difference between C1 and C2 meets the repeatability requirements of different columns in Table 1, take the arithmetic mean of C1 and C2 (C1+C2)/2 as the viscosity meter constant C. If it exceeds the tolerance, it should be recalibrated. If it still exceeds the tolerance after recalibration, it should be considered to replace the viscosity meter for recalibration. The viscosity meter constant is taken as 4 significant digits.
The administrator enters the "System Settings" ->"Constant Input" interface and inputs the new viscosity meter constant.
| | ≤1mm2/s | >1mm2/s |
| Same column repeatability | | 0.2 | 0.3 |
| Repeatability of different columns | | 0.3 | 0.4 |

routine maintenance
Regularly check the working status and functionality of the instrument, and promptly solve any problems found to avoid the instrument working with defects.
Every month, use a calibrated mercury thermometer to check if the temperature in the constant temperature bath of the measuring pool is accurate. If it is found to be out of tolerance, the temperature should be recalibrated to ensure accuracy.
Verify the viscosity meter constant every 2 years. Viscosity standard substance testing can be inserted irregularly to verify the accuracy of the instrument.
