RXFP2 [K658E] CHO
| I. Background | |
|
The RXFP (Relaxin Family Peptide Receptor) family is a type of G protein coupled receptor, consisting of four members: RXFP1, RXFP2, RXFP3, and RXFP4. RXFP2, Also known as LGR8 or GREAT, its protein structure has seven transmembrane domains, an extracellular rich repeat sequence, and a low-density lipoprotein A-class module. Its main physiological ligand is insulin-like peptide 3 (INSL3). During fetal development, INSL3 binds to RXFP2 to activate downstream signaling pathways (such as increasing intracellular cAMP levels), driving the transabdominal descent of the testes; Functional failure can lead to bilateral cryptorchidism. After entering puberty, the expression level of RXFP2 increases with the increase of testosterone and directly participates in spermatogenesis and maturation, especially during the differentiation stage of round sperm cells into mature sperm. Impaired function of this receptor can lead to spermatogenic arrest and non obstructive azoospermia. In addition, RXFP2 may also be involved in physiological processes such as immune regulation and bone metabolism. | |
