I. Overview
Drop out fuses and load drop out fuses are outdoor high-voltage protection devices. It is installed on the high voltage side of the distribution transformer or on the main branch of the distribution line, used for short-circuit and overload protection of transformers and lines, as well as for breaking and closing load currents. The drop out fuse consists of an insulation bracket and a fuse tube. The static contact is installed at both ends of the insulation bracket, and the dynamic contact is installed at both ends of the fuse tube. The fuse tube consists of a layer of arc extinguishing tube and an outer layer of epoxy glass tube. Load drop type fuses are equipped with elastic auxiliary contacts and arc extinguishing covers to open and close load currents.
When a drop out fuse operates normally, the fuse tube is tensioned by the fuse to form a closed position. When the system malfunctions, the fault current causes the fuse to quickly melt and form an arc. The arc extinguishing tube is heated by the arc, decomposing a large amount of gas, creating high pressure inside the tube and forming a longitudinal blow along the pipeline. The arc is elongated by the speed of sound and extinguished. After melting the pure tube, the lower moving contact loses tension and flips down. The locking mechanism releases the fuse tube, causing it to fall and form a clear breaking position. When a load needs to be pulled, use an insulating rod to pull the contact. At this time, the active and static auxiliary contacts are still in contact. Continue to pull the contact with the insulating rod, and the auxiliary contacts also separate, generating an arc between the auxiliary contacts. The arc is elongated in the narrow slot of the arc extinguishing cover, and gas is generated in the arc extinguishing cover. When the current passes zero, the arc is extinguished.
2、 RW3-10 drop out fuse usage conditions:
1. Normal usage conditions of the product:
The ambient temperature is not higher than+40 degrees and not lower than -40 degrees;
B The altitude does not exceed 1000m;
The maximum wind speed does not exceed 35m/s;
The earthquake intensity shall not exceed 8 degrees.
2. The product is not suitable for the following locations:
Places with a risk of combustion or explosion;
Places with severe vibrations or impacts;
C is located in areas with conductivity, chemical gas interactions, and severe pollution caused by salt spray.
