NuovaSil ® CN fillers have a medium polarity cyano bonded stationary phase, which can be used for both normal phase chromatography and reverse phase chromatography. Try to avoid alternating use of positive and negative phase systems.
NuovaSil ® CN exhibits normal phase chromatographic retention properties under low polarity mobile phase conditions such as n-hexane. The surface polarity of the stationary phase is lower than that of bare silica gel, and the retention time of the analyte is generally shorter than that of bare silica gel. It is very effective for analyzing samples when the bare silicone gel retention is too strong. On the contrary, under the conditions of using highly polar mobile phases such as methanol and water, it exhibits retention properties of reverse phase chromatography. Suitable for analysis of proteins, cholesterol, catechins, etc.
