1Petroleum emulsion liquid petroleum asphalt Saybolt viscometerScope of application of the instrument
This instrument is designed and manufactured by our company based on the same type of equipment from abroad. It is suitable for measuring the conditional viscosity of viscous petroleum asphalt, emulsified asphalt, liquid petroleum asphalt, etc. at higher temperatures, and is used to determine the construction temperature of asphalt. Normally, the measurement temperature for viscous petroleum asphalt is between 120 ℃ and 180 ℃. This instrument complies with JTG 3410-2025, "T0623-2005 Asphalt Saybolt Viscosity Test" standard.

4Petroleum emulsion liquid petroleum asphalt Saybolt viscometerExperimental methods and steps
1. Preparation work
1.1 Wash and dry the sample tube and flow hole with solvents such as xylene.
1.2 Prepare asphalt samples according to this regulation, take about 450g of the sample from a container, slowly heat it, stir continuously (stirring cannot be stopped within the last 30 ℃ temperature), and heat it to 10 ℃~15 ℃ above the specified test temperature. The sample is only allowed to be heated and used once, and repeated heating and testing are not allowed.
1.3 Place the viscosity meter horizontally, connect the sensor and mixer socket properly, and add heat transfer oil (about 7 liters) from the heat transfer oil inlet. Connect the power, set the test temperature, press the "Heat" button to start heating. When the temperature reaches the set temperature of around 10 ℃, press the "Stir" button. Maintain the specified test temperature.
2. Experimental steps
2.1 Tighten the bottom cavity of the sample tube with a cork stopper, with a depth of 6.5mm~9.5mm. The tightness should not only prevent the sample from flowing out of the flow hole, but also make it easy to pull out the cork stopper. Then, place the receiving bottle below the flow hole, with the flow hole facing directly towards the center of the receiving bottle.
2.2 Sift the sample through a 0.15mm sieve and inject it into the sample tube. The quantity should be based on the liquid level reaching the marking on the sample tube, and cover the tube with a lid.
2.3 Use a thermometer inserted into the tube to horizontally stir the sample, but do not touch the sample tube. The stirring speed should be 30r/min~50r/min, so that the sample reaches the specified test temperature ± 0.1 ℃ and is maintained for 1 minute.
2.4 Immediately remove the thermometer and tube cover, remove the cork blocking the bottom of the sample tube, and press the stopwatch to allow the sample to flow into the receiving bottle. Until the sample reaches the 60mL mark of the receiving bottle, press the stop watch and record the time accurately to 0.1s.
3. Calculate
3.1 The Saybolt viscosity of asphalt is calculated according to equation (1).
Vs = V1×F (1)
In the formula: Vs - the Saybolt viscosity of the sample, s;
V1- viscosity measured by the sample, s;
F - Calibration coefficient of viscometer.
When obtaining the kinematic viscosity of petroleum asphalt under the same test temperature conditions, it can be converted according to equation (2):
ηs = 2.12×V
In the formula: η s - the kinematic viscosity under the measured temperature conditions, mm ²/s
3.3 To obtain the Engel degree of emulsified asphalt at the same temperature, it can be converted according to equation (3):
Ev = 0.280×Vs (4)
In the formula: Ev - Engel's degree measured under temperature conditions.
4 Reports
When the same sample is tested in parallel at least twice and the results meet the precision requirements for repeatability testing, the average value is taken as the test result. The viscosity of the sample is accurate to 0.5s for samples below 200s, and accurate to 1s for samples above 200s.
5、 Precautions
1. Before use, it should be confirmed that the power supply voltage is within the required fluctuation range of this instrument and has good grounding protection.
2. The instrument should be placed in a dry and ventilated environment, and the level should be adjusted appropriately.
Before adding thermal oil for high-temperature testing, it is necessary to ensure that there is no water in the insulation tank to prevent splashing after heating.
4. When adding heat transfer oil, it should be noted that the liquid level is about 5cm away from the upper cover plate. If the liquid level is too high and heated, the heat transfer oil will flow out from the overflow port.
When inserting the thermometer, do not touch the bottom and ensure that it is located in the middle of the liquid.
During the heating process of the instrument, it is not necessary to turn on the stirring motor. It should be turned on when the temperature approaches the set temperature to reduce the damage of high temperature to the motor.
7. The oil resistant seal of the sample tube joint in the insulation tank is a replaceable consumable part and should be checked or replaced regularly.
After completing the high temperature test, the stirring and heating switches should be turned off, and the heat transfer oil can only be released after the oil temperature drops to avoid accidents.
