Model 50PMA-083 is a 4-port transceiver testing system that operates at 500-6000 MHz in a 19 inch rack mounted enclosure. It has Fan out mesh configuration. Using this structure, there is a path between each pair of ports. There are 6 paths in the 4-port grid, each with its own individually controlled programmable attenuator. The attenuation range of the attenuator is 0-95 x 1dB step. To check the attenuation settings of all attenuators, use the RAP (Read All Paths) command. The testing system will return a list of all 6 path attenuation settings.

Radio to radio testing

The full fan out mesh transceiver testing system can be used to simulate static or dynamic environments for testing wireless communication. All paths between radios have their own individually controlled step attenuators. The signal level between radios can vary up and down throughout the entire attenuation range of the step attenuator. The attenuator can be set to a static value using the remote command to set the attenuator, or it can be attenuated over a period of time using the remote command to set the attenuator.

default settings

JFW provides a transceiver testing system with Ethernet/RS-232 remote control, with network interface set to DHCP mode and serial baud rate set to 57600. These settings can be manually changed through the keyboard, or remotely changed using NET or Serial remote commands. The display screen on the front panel shows the current settings for network mode, IP address, and baud rate.

Remote attenuator control

The transceiver testing system can be remotely controlled through Ethernet connection or serial connection (i.e. RS-232). The network settings can be manually changed through the keyboard or remotely changed using NET remote commands. The network interface can be set to DHCP mode or fixed address mode. Use a zero modem serial cable to connect to the test system via RS-232. The baud rate is as high as 155200 baud. The baud rate can be manually changed using the keyboard or remotely changed using serial remote commands.

We The firmware manual for the first generation firmware is available for download. This manual lists all of our remote commands, including command syntax and examples. Our firmware uses simple ASCII format remote commands. If you connect to the JFW testing system and send the HELP command, it will return a list of all remote commands for that specific testing system.
