Coats Helios ™ K is a sewing thread wrapped in meta aramid, designed specifically for various technical safety products.

This special steel core can withstand high temperatures of about 600 º C when subjected to mechanical stress, and can reach 1000 º C in the absence of mechanical stress. According to EN ISO 11612, EN ISO 14116, and EN 469 standards, K sewing thread is suitable for fire and heat protection. However, the material has low vertical flame retardancy (<105 Ω), which cannot guarantee the prevention of electric shock risk when in contact with live conductors, so it is not suitable for electricians and welders.

Kotz Helios ™ C is a high-performance sewing thread made of steel core (steel grade 1.4841 or AISI 304), wrapped with 8 to 10 steel wires, and covered with a flame-retardant cotton thread layer.
