When the plunger rises to the "upper point" and moves downwards, the inclined groove of the plunger will meet the suction port again, and diesel will be sucked into the plunger sleeve again, repeating the above action. Each plunger system of the inline fuel injection pump corresponds to one cylinder, and there are four plunger systems for every four cylinders. Therefore, it has a relatively large volume and is mostly used in medium-sized and above vehicles. For example, diesel engines on buses and large trucks generally use inline fuel injection pumps.

This type of control has pressure sensors and tilt angle sensors inside the pump. This pump is used together with an external amplifier (if it is "04EH", the amplifier is integrated into the pump). Only one control valve is needed to control the flow and pressure in proportion to the input voltage. By providing electrical feedback on the tilt angle of the inclined plate corresponding to the flow rate and load pressure to the control valve, performance has been greatly improved
The plunger and plunger sleeve are precision machined matching parts. There is an inclined groove on the plunger body, and a small hole on the plunger sleeve called the suction port. This suction port is filled with diesel. When the inclined groove of the plunger faces the suction port, diesel enters the plunger sleeve. When the plunger is pushed to a certain height by the camshaft, the inclined groove of the plunger is offset from the suction port, and the suction port is closed, so that diesel cannot be sucked in or pushed out. When the plunger continues to rise, it compresses the diesel. When the diesel pressure reaches a certain level, it will open the one-way valve and rush out into the fuel injector, and then enter the cylinder combustion chamber from the fuel injector. The plunger discharges a certain amount of diesel each time, only a part of which is injected into the cylinder, while the rest is discharged through the return oil hole, and the injection amount is adjusted by increasing or decreasing the amount of returned oil discharged.
