Overview

Nusselt Gap Transparency Ultra Low Saturation Vapor Pressure Analyzer Product Overview: With the rapid development of fields such as petrochemicals, pharmaceuticals, and environmental protection, researchers have an increasing demand for low vapor pressure data. For example, the storage of pesticides and fertilizers, the manufacture of essence and spices, and the prolongation of the life of plasticizers in rubber and plastic, etc. The design and development of these products all need the low vapor pressure data of pure substances, so it is very important to test the low vapor pressure.

Product Overview:

With the rapid development of fields such as petrochemicals, pharmaceuticals, and environmental protection, there is an increasing demand for low vapor pressure data among researchers. For example, the storage of pesticides and fertilizers, the manufacture of essence and spices, and the prolongation of the life of plasticizers in rubber and plastic, etc. The design and development of these products all need the low vapor pressure data of pure substances, so it is very important to test the low vapor pressure.

Test Principle

At present, the commonly used methods for measuring low vapor pressure include the flow escape method, the Nusselt torque clearance method, and the Nusselt mass clearance method.

The basic principle of the Nusselt method is to place the substance being tested in a Nusselt box with a high vacuum (absolute pressure less than 10-2P a) outside the box. When heated to a certain temperature, the diffusion of sample vapor reaches dynamic equilibrium, and vapor molecules will diffuse outward from the small hole at a constant rate. The vapor pressure of the substance can be calculated by measuring the diffusion rate dm/dt of the diffusing gas, or by measuring the rotation angle caused by the formation of torque by the diffused gas. The former is called the Nusselt mass gap method, and the latter is called the Nusselt torque gap method.

The Nusselt mass gap method is suitable for measuring low vapor pressure, especially for measuring the vapor pressure of some non-volatile solids at high temperatures. The upper limit of the Nusselt mass gap method is 100Pa, while the lower limit can reach 10-3Pa, making it one of the widely used methods for measuring low vapor pressure.
