The working principle of PeopleSense
PeopleSense uses passive infrared (PIR) sensing technology to detect and count people passing within a two meter range of the device from any direction.
The PIR technology in PeopleSense is accurate and robust, providing reliable counting in various indoor and outdoor environments. PeopleSense can be configured as needed to report the total count in units of time blocks *.
By providing multiple optional features and configurations through built-in firmware, PeopleSense allows you to accurately customize solutions for specific crowd counting applications.
*The default time block is 10 minutes per hour, which is 6 count arrays per hour.
Flexible Counting and Reporting
PeopleSense can generate alerts every time the pre designed threshold is reached. This makes it easy to trigger service operations such as bathroom cleaning based on facility usage.
PeopleSense can also be configured to count the number of people only when standing in front of the device for a minimum period of time (e.g. 15 seconds) (but the counting delay threshold can be set to a maximum of a few minutes). This improves the accuracy of monitoring the usage of specific facilities, such as self-service terminals, as it does not track footsteps passing by.
PeopleSense defaults to sending updated count data every hour, but can adjust the reporting frequency as needed.
Remote configuration update
The settings of PeopleSense can be updated remotely through the network, avoiding the hassle of adjusting device parameters (such as reporting intervals) on-site. This makes it easy to adjust your PeopleSense solution as your needs change.
Remote configuration changes can be made to individual devices or as batch downlinks to specified device groups.
Secure and flexible data connection
PeopleSense connects to the 0G Sigfox network *, a global wireless network designed specifically for secure and reliable transmission of device data.
You can access device data through PiP's mobile or web visualization dashboard or API connection. Alternatively, you can directly integrate device data from the LPWAN gateway into the existing platform or system MS.
