NEX LS adopts the third-generation energy dispersive X-ray fluorescence (EDXRF) technology, representing the next development of scanning multi-element online coating analyzers for coil or coil applications.

To provide a tablemoreThe analysis performance and reliability of EDXRF measuring head components are derived from the NEX series high-resolution desktop instruments established by ourselves. With its mature technology, Rigaku NEX LS can perform rapid and non-destructive multi-element analysis of elements ranging from aluminum (Al) to uranium (U), including coating weight, coating thickness, and/or composition.
Rigaku NEX LS is designed specifically for serving network and coil applications, with the ability to perform multi-element composition, coating weight, or coating thickness. The measuring head is installed on a rigid beam and equipped with a linear moving mechanism located above the roller, so the distance from the measuring head to the surface is constant. The elemental composition of the coating is directly measured where necessary. On the contrary, coating weight (or coating thickness) can be directly measured (where element count rate is proportional to thickness) or indirectly measured by measuring the attenuation of some substrate elements (where count rate is negatively correlated with thickness).
Desktop EDXRF spectrometers have long been a familiar technology for manufacturers of anti stick coatings, converters, vacuum formed plastics, and other industries that use silicone oil as a barrier layer, anti stick coating, or nesting agent. Real time scanning and stricter process control tolerances have pushed EDXRF silicon coating analysis technology to a new level. Silicon coating is applied to plastic and paper substrates to alter the release characteristics of products (such as labels) or packaging. If too little siloxane is applied, or if certain areas of the fiber web lack siloxane coating, the peeling performance of the adhesive will be adversely affected in peeling applications, or the demolding characteristics of vacuum formed plastics will be compromised, resulting in substandard or interrupted products in manufacturing and other downstream processes. If too much silicone resin is used, the cost of manufacturing the roll will increase, reduce profits, and in some cases, affect the acceptance and performance of the final product.
