Used for Multiskan ™ Easy Absorption Microplate Reader from Thermo Scientific ™ Filter accessories expand the flexibility of analysis by achieving precise wavelength selection in a wide range of absorbance applications. These durable hard coated filters are designed to integrate smoothly with the optical system of the instrument, supporting both routine and advanced analysis while maintaining high measurement accuracy and long-term reliability.

Multiskan ™ Ease uses an easy to install 8-bit filter wheel and offers three pre installed standard filters (405 nm, 450 nm, and 620 nm). Additional filter accessories allow users to customize wavelength configurations to meet specific analytical requirements, from ELISA and protein quantification to enzyme kinetics and microbial growth analysis.

Optical Filter Wavelength and Its Typical Applications

Standard (pre installed on filter wheel):

405 nm alkaline phosphatase (ALP) enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay; ABT assay; Enzyme kinetics; Endotoxin testing method

450nm - HRP/tmb based ELISA (including rapid and real-time ELISA formats)

620nm - ELISA standard wavelength; Alternative readings for Bradford protein assay

Optional filters:

414 nm heme/hemoglobin assay, Soret band detection, selected oxidation and antioxidant capacity determination

492 nm OPD based ELISA, LDH cytotoxicity, MTS cell proliferation assay. Pierce ™ No dilution required ™ Rapid gold BCA protein assay.

520nm - Selective colorimetric assay for cell proliferation and metabolic activity determination

540nm - Determination of Nitric Oxide (Griess)

570nm - the main wavelength used for BCA protein quantification, MTT cell proliferation, and crystal violet assay

600 nm - Bacterial growth (OD600), Bradford protein assay and turbidity measurement

660nm - Pierce ™ 660nm protein assay

690nm - Reference wavelength for ELISA and MTT detection

750 nm Laurie protein assay; Reference wavelength for protein determination and turbidity correction
