Overview

The core principle of multi-channel total diameter analyzer is Fraunhofer diffraction and Mie scattering theory. Simply put, it is to calculate the size distribution of particles by measuring the angle and intensity distribution of the scattered light of the particle group on the laser, and then reverse calculating the particle size distribution.

Multi channel total diameter analyzerThe core principles are Fraunhofer diffraction and Mie scattering theory. Simply put, it is to calculate the size distribution of particles by measuring the angle and intensity distribution of the scattered light of the particle group on the laser, and then reverse calculating the particle size distribution.

Synchronize the diffraction information of particles of different sizes through a multi-channel total diameter analyzer.

1. Sample pretreatment: The particle sample to be analyzed (such as powder, suspension) is uniformly dispersed to avoid particle agglomeration affecting measurement accuracy. Some instruments will use a pump body to stably transport the dispersed sample to the measurement cell.

2. Laser irradiation and diffraction: The instrument's built-in laser source (such as helium neon laser) emits a parallel laser beam that penetrates the sample in the measurement cell. Particles of different sizes will cause laser to produce diffraction at different angles (small particles have a larger diffraction angle, while large particles have a smaller diffraction angle).

3. Multi channel signal capture: A multi-channel detector array surrounding the measurement cell synchronously receives diffracted light signals from different angles and converts the light signals into electrical signals.

4. Data calculation and analysis: The built-in processor of the instrument performs mathematical operations on the electrical signals transmitted by the multi-channel detector based on Mie scattering theory or Fraunhofer diffraction theory, deducing the proportion of particles of different sizes in the sample and forming particle size distribution data.

5. Result output: Finally, key analysis results such as particle size distribution curve, average particle size, median size, etc. are output through a display screen, printer, or data interface.
