The prepared or preliminarily processed liposome samples may not meet the final required particle size or distribution requirements, and therefore require whole particle processing. By using a certain power source to extrude the sample from the extruder filter membrane (100NM, 200NM or other specifications), the process is temperature controlled to achieve the effect of refining particle size and improving uniform distribution.

Repeatedly extrude liposomes through polycarbonate membranes. Depending on the formula, up to 11 to 21 operations are required to obtain uniformly sized liposomes
